Host Sherrilynne Starkie welcomes Stacey Diffin-Lafleur, a skilled and talented marketing and communications specialist, to the 50 Women Over 50 podcast.
This is a special episode because Sherrilynne’s guest is her ‘big’ sister Stacey Diffin-Lafleur, a woman who’s been a profound influence in our host’s life as she observed Stacey stepping into each new phase of life. Sherrilynne first learned about fashion, make up and music (especially David Bowie) from her sister. She modelled how to have a successful marriage. And she demonstrated her unique way of balancing a career and family.
Perhaps not so coincidently, Stacey and Sherrilynne have taken similar career paths. Stacey is an award-winning social and digital marketing pioneer and a talented writer and editor. She’s lived her whole life in Ottawa, raising her sons here and building lifelong friendships that she holds dear through each decade.
Stacey says, “I have a lot of opinions and I share them quite freely! I get involved in a lot of stuff.” And she shares this energy in this interview.

She lives in Ottawa with her husband and when not at work or at a music festival, you’ll find her poolside with her three granddaughters.

What lucky granddaughters to have such inspiration! Thanks for the wide-ranging interview Sherrilynne. Barked with laughter in a few spots, reflected in others. I’ve admired Stacey’s bold and authentic approach to living and working for more than 30 years and it was lovely to hear it highlighted.

A thoughtful and illuminating chat about the lives and careers of women, building a compelling case for more women in leadership positions. I’ve known Stacey for 30 years and she never fails to surprise me with her often unique perspectives on learning, growing and being happy. Thank you!
