Here’s a round up of the blog posts I enjoyed reading this week:
1. The social media meme is making the rounds again. Stephen Davies shares his faves from today and times past.
2. ..twl…doesn’t want his Mum on Facebook. Get over it. My Mom is. And I’m a Facebook friend to my kids. The world hasn’t ended for us. Yet.
3. Dave Sifry, the guy behind Technorati, has stepped down. He says starting things up is where he gets his kick, not running big companies. I understand where he’s coming from. I’ve worked with a lot of start ups too and often the fun goes out of it when the big money starts rolling. But leaving before the new CEO is announced? That seems strange.
4. Liam Eagle, editor of The WHIR talks about the term ‘Green’ being bandied around in news releases and worries that vocabulary surrounding computing’s effect on the environment will lose its true meaning and importance. He’s right that we need to be careful about rhetoric, but this is an important issue that does have an effect on business every day. We need genuine discussion and debate.
