Effecting a reputation recovery for Casey Anthony, the Florida mother who was acquitted of charges that she murdered her daughter Caylee, is a PR challenge that few would rush to undertake. One of most-hated people in America, reforming Casey could be an impossible task. However, I don’t agree.  I believe there is every chance that she will find a way to leverage her notoriety to make a very good living as a result.

Betty White flogs insurance via YouTube

An insurance company,  The Lifeline Program, has released the music video for “I’m Still Hot” by Luciana featuring Betty White.  It features White rapping on Luciana’s No.1 Billboard Dance Club track, along with bodybuilders, cheesecake, breakdancing and a boa constrictor.
The company says that it originally started with the idea of a video to reach seniors through social media, but after hearing the song, the project snowballed into a remix.
Rebranding itself to a younger audience, the company hopes that as a famous senior citizen Betty’s bold dance moves and catchy rhymes, …

YouTube introduces trends

With 35 hours of video now being uploaded to YouTube every minute, some people find keeping up to be a challenge. That’s why Google has launched  unveiled YouTube Trends, a new set of tools designed to help understand social video content.
YouTube Trends features new algorithmically-generated feeds that highlight which topics and videos are trending right now. The site also offers a ‘top videos’ module and a blog with more in-depth explorations of videos, trends, news, and cultural phenomena as seen through the lens of YouTube. Students get more than they bargain for when a Happiness Machine replaces the soda vending machine.  This YouTube video from Coke has been viewed  +373k times in four days and gets 6,800 mentions on Google Blogs.  It’s a simple concept and it’s working well.
