Pinterest leads Facebook in retail customer aquisition

Sixty-nine per cent of online consumers who visit Pinterest found an item they’ve purchased, or want to purchase, compared to just forty per cent of online consumers who visit Facebook and found the same, according to the  latest study in the Bizrate Insights Image Sharing and Shopping Series.
In terms of online shopping audiences, Facebook is much larger than Pinterest by a ratio of almost four to one, however the study found  that Pinterest provides a better experience for shopping discovery, purchase consideration, and deeper engagement with retailer content.

Pinterest updates terms of service

There’s been considerable online discussion of the risks for brands on Pinterest; there’s also criticism about the kind of content that is being pinned including photographs of self harm.  This morning, Pinterest has announced
changes to its terms of service to address many of these concerns.
The acceptable use and privacy policies have been re-drafted to make them easier to understand so that they will better reflect Pinterest’s own growth plans. Changes worth noting:

the removal of Pinterest’s right to sell users’ content.
pins that explicitly encourage self-harm or self-abuse are no longer allowed.
