Facebook’s new update scheduler

31 May 2012 3 Comments

For the first time, Facebook page administrators can schedule updates now to be published in the future.  A little clock icon appears in the left hand corner of the update window, and when it’s clicked, it opens up a scheduling tool that provides for future updates.  In addition, admins can also post things to appear in the past (but not before the page was launched).
Will this new function put TweetDeck, SocialOomph and HootSuite out of business?  Probably not.  People who use those tools are usually managing many profiles across multiple platforms.  But the scheduler will definitely help Facebook page admins who are trying to hit peak traffic times  with updates.
