Pepsi’s Live Now For Music on Twitter

Pepsi and Twitter are teaming up for what might become a real game changer for the Twitterverse. Today, Pepsi’s Twitter page has become an entertainment centrepiece where people can download free songs and watch concerts.

It’s called Live Now For Music. The initiative results from Pepsi’s significant investment in Twitter to create this enhanced profile and some clearly compelling content.

Through Twitter, Pepsi allowing followers to participate in a  ‘pop-up’ concert. This interactive event invites followers to suggest concerts streamed and songs played.  Tweeps are encouraged to follow and use the #livefornow hashtag when participating.

The Pepsi partnership indicates that Twitter is opening up new ways for brands to leverage a lot more value from the platform; this is a big step beyond sponsored tweets and other straight advertising models.

It’s smart.  Introducing an entertainment component is bound to increase engagement for brands and at the same time, improve revenues for Twitter.  Pepsi is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on Twitter. This is exciting news for brands seeking to build consumer engagement through the social Internet.
