Next week, January 27 to 29, like many people from the Isle of Man, I’ll be heading to London to attend the ICEi, part of the International Gaming Exhibition which is the UK’s biggest trade show for people involved in egaming.

More than 2,500 people will flock to Earls Court to see more than 250 companies taking part at the show; it really is a who’s who of online gambling and gaming.

The Isle of Man Government has taken part the last couple of years by having an exhibition stand and inviting Island companies who have an interest in egaming to take part.

Online gambling is becoming more important to the Isle of Man economy as the industry here continues to grow.

This success stems from several factors, the Isle of Man’s favourable tax regime, allied to a rigorous and responsive regulatory structure, and the Island’s world-class IT infrastructure.

In addition, egamers find here a diverse range of professional services, including legal, accountancy, banking, and insurance specialists, to underpin their operations.

It’s a potent mix that’s attracting some of the world’s biggest egaming companies to our shore, including PokerStars, the worlds largest online poker site.

So many of my colleagues are headed down to both ICEi and CAP Euro. Wish I could make it myself, but considering how I just got back from Vegas, I could probably use some time at home…
